Hi, I'm Steven Blake, Founder of OldPain2Go®, and my purposeful mission is to help release as many individuals as possible form long-term pain, through an approach that fundamentally shifts how chronic pain is perceived and resolved.
Here's how it all began, where we are going and my personal message to you.
Prioritising the Release of Pain
An innovative and effective approach that integrates pain neuroscience and logic to help individuals Release long-term pain, predominantly within a single focused session.
Supporting everyone touched by chronic pain.

Supporting everyone touched by chronic pain.

Diagnosed with spinal arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis at 38, I lived in constant discomfort for much of my life. But in 2011, while retraining as a therapist, I encountered a technique that had potential but also significant flaws. I adapted it for myself, and to my amazement, the pain I’d carried for 50 years disappeared. That moment changed everything.

I couldn’t stop there. I needed to understand why it worked, and how to help others do the same. So I refined the process using logic, practice, and lived experience. Years later, the science began catching up and confirming what I had already found in practice: that pain, especially long-term pain, is not always a signal of ongoing damage.
OldPain2Go® was born out of this understanding.

Thanks to advances in neuroscience, we now have a clearer understanding that pain is not a direct measure of injury but the brain’s interpretation of signals it perceives as potentially harmful, predicting a need for protection.
Prioritising survival, the brain continuously learns and updates its responses based on past experiences, emotional state, expectations for the future, and the surrounding environment, collectively known as biopsychosocial influences.
Through this automatic and adaptive system, the brain forms neural associations of potential harm, allowing it to anticipate threats and trigger protective responses early, prompting behaviours that reduce risk and help prevent injury.

When pain persists, fluctuates, or recurs beyond the expected healing period of three months, and a medical professional confirms it cannot be explained by another diagnosis, or continues despite treatment, this strongly suggests a shift in the underlying pain mechanisms.
Pain that may have begun with tissue damage (nociceptive pain) or nerve injury (neuropathic pain) can become sustained by altered processing within the brain and central nervous system, known as nociplastic pain.
While this helps explain why pain can continue long after an injury has healed, or even when no clear tissue or nerve damage is present, the overlapping and coexisting nature of these mechanisms can make it difficult for both individuals and professionals to pinpoint exactly what is driving the pain.
When pain becomes chronic, it is vital to recognise the role of the brain’s protective processing in amplifying, sustaining or even generating the pain experience.
The Early Days
Initially I found it difficult to explain what seemed incredulous, so promoting my work wasn’t easy. I encountered natural scepticism, sometimes even hostility, which was difficult and upsetting. But I was driven by the potential to change lives, so I kept going.

In 2016, I started running free pain clinics to refine my skills and test my evolving ideas. Later that year, I began teaching others, sharing my knowledge to empower more people.
Since then, over 1,800 individuals worldwide have been trained, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, neurologists, pain science researchers, and a diverse range of wellbeing professionals.

In addition to training practitioners live online, we’ve delivered in-person training across the globe — from major cities to smaller communities. This includes the USA (Las Vegas), Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth), New Zealand (Auckland), Belgium (Aarschot), the Netherlands (Deurne), and a wide range of locations across the UK, such as London, Ruskington, Lincoln, Cardiff, York, Chesterfield, Hull, Kegworth, Northallerton, and Swindon.
Our training has reached over 1,800 practitioners across the world, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, neurologists, pain researchers, hypnotherapists, NLP practitioners, and a broad range of wellbeing professionals

We are all on a journey to understand pain more deeply and to close the gap between emerging scientific insights and everyday practice.
We are all on a journey to understand pain more deeply and to close the gap between emerging scientific insights and everyday practice.
We are committed to continuous evolution and believe that collaboration is key to progress in this rapidly advancing field, an outlook reinforced by university-led research and a large-scale observational study, which highlight the broad applicability and transformative potential of our approach in addressing persistent pain.
Through collaborations with pain organisations, researchers, and scientific communities, we aim to deepen the understanding of pain release achieved through this innovative and effective method, ensuring that advancements in pain science translate into accessible solutions for those in need.
